- „Game of Thrones“ star Maisie Williams says she got to keep her character’s brown leather jacket from set after finishing filming the final season.
- Arya’s iconic sword Needle might have been a more obvious choice.
- But there’s a chance those weapon props are too valuable by now.
- Kit Harington (Jon Snow) has previously said that his sword Longclaw is the one memento he wants, but the HBO crew have become cagey over the years about promising it to him.
As „Game of Thrones“ filming came to an end, at least one star was able to take home a cherished memento — but it might not be the one you’d expect.
Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) revealed on BBC Radio One that she took her a jacket as a souvenir.
First noted by Mashable, Williams said Arya’s brown leather jacket worn on the recent seventh season (and likely on the coming eighth) was hers for life.
„I can imagine it being something that I’m like, ‚Oh, I was on this show once upon a time and this was the jacket I wore‘,“ Williams said. „And my grandkids being like, ‚Please stop.'“
But what about Arya’s legendary sword, Needle?
The prop weapon wasn’t mentioned in Williams‘ interview with BBC Radio One. In the past, Williams‘ co-star Kit Harington has mentioned how badly he wants to keep Jon Snow’s sword Longclaw — and why it seemed like a diminishing prospect.
„There’s only one that I’ve ever wanted: I want my sword,“ Harington told „Entertainment Tonight“ ahead of the seventh season premiere. „The first season they were like, ‘Yeah yeah yeah of course,’ and as the seasons went on and the show became more and more popular and that swords value went up, they became slowly quieter about it.“
„And that’s why I’m hinting more and more,“ Harington said. „I’m like ‚No seriously I want that sword.‘ I’m just gonna steal it.“
With filming for the eighth and final season of „Game of Thrones“ wrapped, there’s no word yet on whether or not Harington was able to keep Longclaw. Since it appears as if Williams didn’t take home Needle, does that mean Harington’s chances of getting Longclaw are even lower? We’ll have to wait and see if Harington reveals his own „Game of Thrones“ momento in the future.
