Another major earthquake just hit the tourist island of Lombok in Indonesia, just days after a massive magnitude-6.9 earthquake struck Lombok island on Sunday evening.

The 6.2-magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia on Thursday afternoon at around 12:25 local time.

According to Indonesia’s meteorological agency, the earthquake struck at a depth of 12 kilometers (12.5 miles), originating just several miles northwest of Lombok.

The agency added that the quake will not generate tsunamis.

Twitter users reported feeling the quake in nearby Bali, located 93 miles away. A spokesman for Indonesia’s disaster agency Sutopo Purwo Nugroho posted video to his Twitter page on Thursday showing what appeared to be new damage to buildings and power lines.

Reuters said witnesses reported collapsed buildings and widespread damage, likely compounding fresh damage from quakes which have already devastated the island this month.

It is the third earthquake to hit the island in under two weeks. Last week, a powerful 6.4-magnitude earthquake killed 16 people and damaged hundreds of houses.

And on Sunday, a massive 7.0 earthquake devastated the tourist island, sending almost 2,500 people to the hospital taken with serious injuries, and displacing more than 156,000 people.

Sutopo put the official death toll at 131 people by Wednesday, though local media and several official bodies have estimated the death toll may be 2-3 times higher than reported. He has said that the death toll will likely rise, as rescuers continue to sift through the rubble.

State-owned news agency Antara said a total of 335 aftershocks have rocked the island since the August 5th quake.

This is a developing story.
