- Grant Gustin slammed people who expressed negative thoughts in regards to a leaked photo from the set of „The Flash.“
- The photo showed the 28-year-old in a new suit, and people were dissatisfied with the design and how Gustin’s body looked in it.
- In an Instagram post, Gustin told people to refrain from judging the season five suit, which has been changed since the leaked photo was taken.
- In response to people who called him „too skinny,“ the actor said that he has a „naturally thin“ physique and tries to keep it in shape.
A leaked photo showed „The Flash“ star Grant Gustin in his red suit for the upcoming season of the hit CW show — and now he’s firing back at trolls who body shamed him.
The photo, which gained plenty of attention online, showed Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster for season five of the series, but the suit design wasn’t one that fans have seen in the previous four seasons. Moreover, some people felt that Gustin needed to „bulk up“ more for the role.
Though the 28-year-old no longer has a Twitter account (he deactivated it in early August 2018), he clearly saw the responses to the leaked photo. Gustin took to Instagram to address the situation. He called out those who judged the outfit’s design and called him „too skinny.“
„So here’s the thing about this bulls— photo leak,“ he wrote. „It’s a cool suit. That’s a terrible photo that I was unaware was being taken, much less being posted. Some things need work and they will be worked on. We’ll get there.“
In a now-deleted video on his Instagram story, Gustin said: „Just try to withhold judgment. And f— whoever leaked that.“
In his Instagram post, Gustin also shared his thoughts on people who commented on his body.
He wrote: „I’ve had 20+ years of kids and adults telling me or my parents I was too thin. I’ve had my own journey of accepting it. But there’s a double standard where it’s OK to talk s— about a dude’s body.“
Gustin went on to say that he’s „naturally thin“ and has tried to „stay in shape and add as much size as I can throughout these seasons.“
He added that „gaining weight is a challenge,“ and it is „greatly affected by stress,“ which „ebbs and flows for me throughout a season.“
The actor added that despite what people say about his physique, he is „happy with my body and who I am,“ and he hopes that children who share similar body types „feel like THEY could be a superhero on TV or film or whatever it may be someday.“
He concluded by saying that he believes fans will be satisfied once they see the official season five suit.
„Things have been adjusted since that leaked shot was taken, and more things will continue to be adjusted until it feels right.
After Grant shared his message, fans came to his defense on Twitter.
Good on Grant Gustin for talking about the double standard when it comes to body shaming men. Yeah the suit sucked but thats not exactly his fault is it. Just gotta wait and see what it looks like on screen.

It’s really sad to read Grant Gustin’s instagram post about the new Flash suit & body shaming & people telling him he’s too thin. Body shaming seems to be a topic which a lot of people disapprove of towards women, but not so much with men. It’s something which impacts everyone..
